Ready.
FAQ
Does extraction upload my GIF?
No. Decoding occurs in this browser tab.
Can I download every frame?
The preview is ready for a PNG frame; use the source GIF in a dedicated batch decoder when you need hundreds of separate files.
Extract complete GIF frames, not broken image patches
Animated GIFs often store only the pixels that changed between frames. A useful extractor must composite those patches on the logical canvas and respect disposal instructions. This tool does that before it creates thumbnails or PNG downloads, including restore-to-background and restore-to-previous behavior.
Download one frame or the full sequence
Select any visible thumbnail to save that composited frame. The ZIP option exports every decoded frame plus a small frames.json timing file, which is handy for storyboards, cleanup, and recreation work. The preview shows up to eighty thumbnails so the page stays responsive; the archive can contain up to five hundred decoded frames.
Why there are safety limits
A modest GIF can expand into hundreds of full RGBA canvases. Decoding happens in a worker, and the tool checks file size and total pixel work before compositing. If a file exceeds the 50 MB or pixel budget, resize it in a desktop editor first.
